Single Serve Chocolate Chip Cookie
Yield: 1 Big Cookie Prep Time: 5 minutes Total Time: 17 minutes
Ingredients
20 g (1½ Tbsp) Unsalted Butter, Room Temperature
10 g (2½ tsp) Granulated Sugar
20 g (1 Tbsp + 1 tsp) Light Brown Sugar
25 g (3½ Tbsp) All-Purpose Flour
1 Large Egg Yolk
¼ tsp Vanilla Extract
⅛ tsp Baking Soda
Pinch of Salt
15 g (1 heaping Tbsp) Semi Sweet Chocolate Chunks
15 g (1 heaping Tbsp) Dark Chocolate Chunks
Recipe
If baking right away & skipping step 5, Preheat the oven to 177°C(350°F)
In a bowl, mix together the butter, sugar, and brown sugar with a fork or rubber spatula. Mix until a sugar paste forms that is paler in color.
Add in the flour, egg yolk, vanilla, baking soda, and salt. Mix again until a dough forms.
Fold in the chocolate chunks. Form the dough into a ball.
[Optional] Rest the dough ball for 30 minutes in the fridge. Preheat the oven to 177°C(350°F).
Laila’s Tip: Resting the dough here will give the final cookie a nicer chewy texture. This will also help prevent the cookie from spreading too much. However, the cookie will still be delicious without this resting step.
Place the dough ball on a parchment lined baking sheet. Bake for 12 minutes or until fully browned. (Edges are expected to brown more than the middle.)
